This week there’s going to a big event happening in Australia
이번 주에 호주에서 큰 행사가 열리는 데요.
Leaders from some of the world's most powerful countries are all converging on Brisbane for the G20. 
 세계의 가장 힘이 센 지도자들이 G20 에 참가 하려고 브리즈번으로 모이고 있어요.
It's a meeting that aims to solve some of the biggest issues facing the globe.
이 회의는 지구가 직면하고 있는 가장 큰 문제들을 해결 하려는 것이 목적이에요.

  NATASHA THIELE, REPORTER: Have you ever wanted to know what happens inside an exclusive club? 
 독점적인(회원제) 클럽 안에서는 무슨 일이 일어나는지 알고 싶은 적 있으세요?

Well there are two very exclusive clubs meeting in Australia right now.
자 두 개의 아주 독점적인 클럽 회의가 호주에서 지금 열리고 있는데요.

The first is this one, the exclusive kids’ antique club.
첫 번째는 어린이들의 회원제 앤틱 클럽입니다.
The second is just a bit bigger and just a bit more important.
두 번 째는 좀 더 크고 좀 더 중요한 클럽입니다.

  It's called the G20 and this year it's meeting in Brisbane.
G20 라고 하고요 올해는 브리즈번 에서 미팅이 열립니다.

The first thing to know about exclusive clubs is that you need an invite to be able to attend. 첫째로 알아야 할 것은 회원제 클럽에 참가 하려면 초대장이 있어야 해요.

  For the kids' antique club, the members have to be massive fans of old stuff.
  어린이들의 앤틱 클럽에 들어가려면 멤버들은 오래된 물건을 정말 좋아 해야 해요.
“We only bring the very historical items.
우리는 오직 역사적인 물건들만 가지고 와야 해요.
But for the G20, selection works a little differently.
 그런나 G20의 논의 선정은 조금 달라요.
This group's made up of 19 countries, plus a representative from the European Union and only the most powerful countries are invited to be a part of it. 
이 그룹은 19의 나라로 구성 되고 거기에다 유럽연합의 대표가 하나 포함됩니다.
오직 세계에서 가장 힘이 있는 나라들만 초대되고 멤버가 될 수 있어요.
  The 19 countries who are members together represent two-thirds of the world's population and 85 percent of the world's money. 
 그 19의 나라들이 모여 세계2/3의 인구를 대표하고 세계의 85% 돈이 이들에게 모여 있어요. So they're a powerful group when they get together.
그래서 그들이 모이면 강력한 모임이 되는 거죠.


But why do these meetings have to be so exclusive?
그런데 왜 이러한 모임들은 그렇게 한정적인 걸까요?

Why can't they be open to all?
왜 모두에게 다 열려 있지 않을 걸까요?



We need to figure out some snacks for the club.
클럽에서 먹을 스낵을 생각해 내야해요.
I know pizza. 핏자 어때?
How about hot chips? 감자 튀김은 어때?
I think sushi would be better because it’s healthier option.
스시가 건강에 좋으니까 그게 좋을 거 같아요.
No it’s too healthy 안돼요. 너무 건강에 좋은 거라


Well sometimes, if you have too many people in a club it can be hard to make decisions.
가끔은 클럽에 너무 많은 사람들이 있으면 결단을 하는데 어려움이 있을 수 있어요.

  At the G20 there are a lot of important issues to discuss.
G20 회의에서 논의 해야 할 중요한 문제들이 많아요.
Keeping the numbers low helps to keep things focussed.
멤머의 수를 적게 하는 것이 문제들에 집중할 수 있게 도와줘요.
So what's on the agenda at these big meetings? 그럼 이런 중요한 회의의 논의 사안은 어떤게 있나요?
What’s the next thing on club’s agenda? 다음의 논의 사안은 무언가요?
Today I’ve brought this statue of lion which my great uncle in India made for me.
오늘 저는 인도에 계시는 증조부께서 만들어 주신 사자 상을 가지고 왔어요.
I got this tea cup from my great great grandma’s. She stole it from Russian Queen’s castle. 이 찻잔은 저의 고조모의 찻잔인데 러시아 왕비(여왕)의 성에서 훔친 거예요.
In the antique club, the agenda is always interesting but not exactly big issues.
앤틱 클럽의 안건은 항상 흥미롭지만 큰 문제들은 아니죠.

But at G20, they get to deal with some of the biggest issues facing the world.
그러나 G20 에서는 세계가 직면 하고 있는 가장 중대한 문제들을 해결해야 해요.

Topics that often get a mention are trade, jobs, energy and inequality among others.
보통 자주 논의되는 사안들은 무역, 일자리, 에너지 그리고 불평등에 관한 거예요.

But don't expect them to solve all the world's problems with one meeting.
하지만 이러한 세계의 모든 문제들을 한번의 회의로 해결 할 것이라고 기대하지는 마세요.

Coming to an agreement on big issues isn't always easy and disagreements can happen at G20 too.
중대한 문제들에 동의를 얻는 것은 항상 쉬운 일은 아니며 의견의 불일치는 G20에서도 일어 날 수 있어요.
Negotiations can go on for ages and solutions can be hard to agree on.
협상은 오래 동안 지속 될 수 있고 문제의 해결점에 동의하는 것은 어려 울 수 있어요. 
  That's why they have to hold them each year.
그래서 이러한 회의가 매년 마다 열리는 이유예요.
But big decisions can come out of G20 meetings and because most of these decisions relate to what happens in the future.
대부분의 중대한 결정들이 미래에 어떤 일이 일어나느냐 와 연관이 있기 이러한 결정들이 G20 미팅에서 나올 수 있어요.
They will directly affect you and the world you'll live in.
이러한 결정들은 여러분에게 그리고 우리가 살고 있는 이 세상에 직접적으로 영향을 미치게 될 거 예요.


What won't affect you though is everything decided at this exclusive meeting unless of course you're a big fan of antiques. 
 앤틱을 좋아하지 않는 한 여러분에게 영향을 미치지 않는 것들도 이러한 회의에서 모두 결정되요.

오늘은 좀 어린이들이 나와서 G20와  앤틱 클럽과 비교해서 설명 해줬는데요.
중간 중간 어린이들이 하는 말들은 문장에서 빠진 부분이 있습니다. 

브리즈번에서는 보안에 최선을 다하는지라 시민들이 불편하다고 불평을 하고  시위도 하는 것 같은데요.
며칠만  좀 참지 하는 것이 저의 의견이지만 호주 사람들은 심심해서 그런지 별 것도 아닌 것에 화를 잘 냅니다.
 어쩌면 그래서 국민의 힘이 무서운지도 몰라요.
아주 작은 것도 난리를 치니 정부가 좀 더 국민의 말을 듣는게 아닐까 합니다.
